Fresh mint leaves on the plant.
What It Is
Mint is a broad family of aromatic herbs used across savory dishes, desserts, drinks, sauces, and garnishes.
Flavor & Aroma
Cooling, bright, sweet, and intensely aromatic; spearmint is softer while peppermint is more menthol-driven.
How to Use It
Use it with peas, zucchini, lamb, yogurt, citrus, fruit, chocolate, grains, and fresh cheeses. Tear or slice just before serving.
Buying & Storage
Look for crisp, deeply colored leaves. Refrigerate stems in a little water or wrap them lightly in a damp towel.
Chef's Notes
Heat quickly dulls mint, so reserve some fresh leaves for the final finish whenever possible.
